Multiverses, special abilities and a main character who must save the world. Hard to believe, but my movie of the year is not from Marvel.
Anyone who is upset by the monotony of the cinematic landscape should sit up and take notice now: besides the fact that there are always fantastic diamonds among the prequels, sequels and spin-offs, the cinema program also regularly surprises moviegoers. with original films. stories that have never been seen before, not to be missed. A24’s new prank “Everything, everywhere, all at once” is one of those very particular stories for which the cinema was made and which have not yet been noticed by the general public. According to Blickpunkt: Film, only 12,700 viewers have seen the film so far, putting it at number 11 on the movie charts. The trailer gives you a first impression of the crazy sci-fi adventure:
Quirky, Emotional, Action-Packed, and Completely Wacky
In fact, when you think of the multiverse, you immediately think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), especially when the debut of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is imminent. However, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” has nothing to do with Stephen Strange and Co., instead, the film explores the multiverse of Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh, “Tiger & Dragon”), who only wants basically just filing his tax return and then coming back to go back to his boring life in his own laundromat. When her husband Waymond (Ke Huy Quan, “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”) reveals to her that he is her husband from another multiverse and needs her help or humanity will perish, she is transported in a whole new kidnapped world, which is nevertheless very familiar to him.
The story of “the chosen person who must save the world from evil” is a well-known and well-used plot motif in Hollywood, but everything feels new in Everything Everywhere All At Once. The completely insane mix of genres piques viewers’ interest with thrilling action and brilliant Michelle Yeoh, who hopefully wins every award under Hollywood skies for her performance. But what makes the film special is the courage to take the craziest paths while showing emotion and heart.
Everything everywhere all at once exceeded all my expectations
Usually, as soon as I see a trailer and the “A24” logo flashes, I have hope, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” was no different, if not maybe even more than usual . The trailer was so good that I wanted to run straight to the cinema, so I went to one of the early screenings with my colleague Andi, who was just as enthusiastic as I was.
To say the film exceeded my expectations does not do justice to the work of directors and writers Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. It’s been a long time since I laughed as much at the movies as I cried. At the same time, I turned away in shock and disgust and fought back my tears – at the end also because it was emotional. “Everything Everywhere All At Once” is not only a captivating sci-fi action film, it is also somewhere a hidden message of love to life and people with their flaws, but above all it is also a love story between parents and their children. I don’t want to reveal exactly where these messages are revealed in the film at this point, but you should instead hit the theaters yourself to see “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” Not only will you be part of nearly two hours of fantastic entertainment, but you’ll also be able to shape the cinematic landscape as you ring in the box office for an original film. So you can only win.
